Sending SOS Alert
The Sending SOS Alert feature in the Famalth One Watch App allows you to send emergency alerts directly from your Wear OS smartwatch — instantly notifying your paired smartphone and nearby users through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication.
This feature ensures quick response even when your phone is out of reach or there’s no internet connectivity.
Overview
With the SOS Button on your watch, you can:
- Send an emergency alert to your paired smartphone.
- Broadcast a BLE alert to nearby Famalth Safety users.
- Add a custom message to describe the emergency.
- Get visual confirmation when the SOS is successfully sent.
How to Send an SOS Alert
- Open the Famalth One Watch App on your Wear OS smartwatch.
- Tap the red SOS button in the center of the screen.
- The Emergency Help screen will appear.
- (Optional) Enter a short message in the text box (e.g., “Test,” “I need help,” or “Accident at park”).
- Tap Send SOS to broadcast your alert.
- You’ll see a confirmation once the SOS is sent.
If you accidentally opened the SOS screen, tap Cancel to return to the home screen.
How It Works
- When you press Send SOS, your watch instantly sends a signal to your paired phone, which then forwards alerts to your emergency contacts.
- If Send SOS via BLE is enabled, your watch will also broadcast the alert offline to nearby devices with the Famalth ONE App installed.
- If Health Guardian is active, the system can automatically trigger this screen if a fall or critical health issue is detected.
Visual Indicators
| Icon / Display | Meaning |

| Confirmation message | SOS successfully sent. |
Safety Recommendations
- Always keep Bluetooth enabled to ensure instant SOS transmission.
- If the phone icon is grey or missing, the watch is not paired — reconnect before relying on SOS.
- Keep Receive SOS Alerts via BLE active to allow two-way community alerts.
Example Scenario
You’re out jogging and encounter an accident or threat:
- Press the SOS button on your watch.
- The Emergency Help screen opens automatically.
- You type “Injured, please help” and press Send SOS.
- Your phone receives the alert, and nearby users get BLE notifications.
- Your location (if accessible) is attached automatically.
Common Questions
Q1: Can I send SOS alerts without my phone nearby?
Yes. If Send SOS via BLE is enabled, the watch can still broadcast the alert offline to other nearby devices.
Q2: What happens after sending the SOS?
Your paired smartphone forwards the alert to your emergency contacts and optionally shares your location if GPS is active.
Q3: Can I test the SOS alert?
Yes. Enter “Test” in the message field to verify your setup safely.
Q4: What if the SOS button is unresponsive?
Ensure Bluetooth and required permissions (Location, Sensors) are enabled on both your phone and watch.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| SOS not sending | Reconnect your watch and phone; ensure BLE is ON. |
| No response from phone | Open the Famalth ONE App once to refresh connection. |
| Alert sent but not received by contacts | Check internet or message permission on your phone. |
| BLE range too short | Keep devices within 200 meters for effective alerting. |
Summary
The SOS Button on your Wear OS smartwatch acts as a lifeline in emergencies — combining BLE broadcasting, phone alerts, and optional health-based triggers.
Even without internet, your watch can still reach nearby helpers through Famalth’s community-based safety network, ensuring help is always within range.
